Although hunters tend to see it otherwise.

Although hunters tend to see it otherwise, an avoidance or fear of loud noises is normal behavior for dogs, even hunting dogs. That so few of our dogs develop gunshyness is a testimony to the time their owners spend gradually introducing them to the sound.
But when mistakes are made and a dog becomes gunshy, it's not pretty, and it's not easy to cure. Master's Voice tapes have been curing gunshyness since 1986 with tapes that gradually reintroduce a dog to the sound of gunfire, via soothing music,
Master's Voice's newest offering includes the Gunshy Cure audio CD as well as the Kennel Calm CD of music designed to accelerate and be used in conjunction with their Gunshy Cure CD. The package also includes a detailed instructional manual.
Larry Mueller, the long-time dog columnist for Outdoor Life magazine, claims that Master's Voice cured one of his dogs from gunshyness and now says he "recommends the Master's Voice system to all my readers." That's straight from the horse's mouth.
