J. Bazzano Company Cedar Shavings

J. Bazzano Company Cedar Shavings

Every year about this time the folks at J. Bazzano Company send me a bale of their cedar shavings, and every year I'm amazed all over again at how wonderfully springy and aromatic cedar shavings are. I want to stick my head in the box and gulp up the scent, which smells like cedar wood smoke on a chilly autumn night.

My dogs love it too, although they tend to kick it out of their indoor kennels. But for an outdoor run with an outdoor dog house, cedar shavings are hard to beat and far superior to straw. Cedar shavings are naturally insect resistant, will last for months without packing down, and don't stick to a dog's coat like straw does (not as much, anyway). Great for airline crates, too.
